Scale quantities without guessing

Recipe Ingredient Scaling multiplies one entered quantity by the target servings divided by the original servings. Repeat it for each ingredient, keeping that ingredient's unit. It calculates amounts; it does not rewrite a recipe or determine a new cooking time.

Keep mass and volume separate. A cup-to-gram conversion needs the relevant ingredient and measurement standard. The unit selector on a portion calculator labels the amounts you enter; it does not convert them. Follow the tested recipe and appliance instructions for technique and cooking time.

Adjust a recipe and its measurements

Scale each ingredient, then convert any gram amounts to ounces if that matches your kitchen scales. A mass conversion does not turn grams into cups.

  1. 1. Scale ingredients
  2. 2. Grams to ounces

Common questions

Can I scale a recipe from four servings to six?

Yes. The factor is 6 ÷ 4 = 1.5, so 300 g becomes 450 g. Use Recipe Ingredient Scaling for each ingredient and review practical measurements such as eggs separately.

Is Celsius-to-Fahrenheit conversion the same as a fan-oven adjustment?

No. Celsius-to-Fahrenheit changes the temperature scale. Conventional-to-fan tools make a separate adjustment and their assumptions are stated on the individual pages.
