How the calculation works
Estimated fare = base fare + distance × rate per selected distance unit + entered total waiting/time charge + extra charges. The waiting/time field is a total currency amount, not minutes or a rate. No meter increments, minimum tariff, surge rule, local price or automatic tip is imposed. Amounts use the selected currency’s standard minor units; halfway amounts round away from zero and nonzero subminor values are identified. Currency selection labels values without an exchange rate.
Example
Worked example (GBP): Base Fare = 2.8; Distance = 6; Rate Per Distance Unit = 1.75; Total Waiting / Time Charge = 3; Extra Charges = 2; Distance Unit = "kilometres". Result: £18.30.
Practical tip
If a tariff charges waiting by time, first work out that total charge and enter the amount; do not enter waiting minutes as currency.
Frequently asked questions
Which distance unit does the rate use?
Select kilometres or miles and enter the distance charge per that same unit. Changing the selector does not convert the entered distance or rate.
Is this a live fare quote?
No. It adds the assumed charges you enter. A provider’s final meter, booking conditions, minimum charge or rounding may differ.
How is the estimated total rounded?
Entered decimal components are added before rounding the final total to the selected currency’s standard minor unit. Halfway amounts round away from zero; nonzero subminor amounts are identified.
