Use pace and splits for the same distance

Pace expresses time per distance unit; speed expresses distance per time unit. Check the unit on the chosen tool. The running split calculators divide a total time into the number of equal splits you enter; they do not model hills or a changing pace.

These tools calculate training and scoring figures rather than prescribing exercise or predicting future performance. A result does not assess whether a workout is suitable for you. Follow the rules of the competition when using scoring or tournament calculations.

Check a target pace and split time

Use the distance and total finish time for pace. Enter the same total time and your desired number of equal segments to calculate a split time.

  1. 1. Running pace
  2. 2. Equal split time

Common questions

Are the running splits automatically kilometres?

The split calculator divides total time by your entered number of splits. Use five equal splits for five kilometres if that is your intended plan; the tool does not infer the segment length.

Does the knockout match count include a third-place play-off?

The basic count is teams minus one for a single-elimination winner. Add any separate placement or consolation matches according to the tournament format.
