How the calculation works

Per-side target = (target barbell weight − bar weight) ÷ 2; use entered positive plate sizes largest first with exact whole counts. This is a largest-first estimate with unlimited matching pairs assumed. It is not a stock-aware or globally optimal combination search. Counts are grouped rather than printing one item per plate, and unmatched per-side weight remains visible. Verify actual paired stock, collars and equipment limits separately. Quantities use the precision shown in the worked example. Durations round to the nearest second; nonzero subsecond durations are labelled. Changing unit labels does not convert entered quantities.
