Floor Tiles Cost Calculator

Estimate the material cost of floor tiles from purchase quantity and matching unit price.

How to use Floor Tiles Cost Calculator

1. Enter Quantity Required, Price Per Unit. Use the matching measurement or purchase unit. 2. Quantity and price must refer to the same unit. Fractional quantities are allowed for materials sold continuously; whole-pack rounding must be done before pricing. Coverage must describe one chosen tile or pack. Cuts, layout, joints, breakages and spare tiles are separate allowances. 3. Select Calculate or press Enter to see estimated material cost. 4. Select Select Copy result to copy the answer, or Reset to clear the form.

Why use this tool?

Use this calculator to plan tiles for a measured floor area. Coverage must describe one chosen tile or pack. Cuts, layout, joints, breakages and spare tiles are separate allowances.

How the calculation works

Material cost = purchase quantity × price per unit. Quantity and price must refer to the same unit. Fractional quantities are allowed for materials sold continuously; whole-pack rounding must be done before pricing. Coverage must describe one chosen tile or pack. Cuts, layout, joints, breakages and spare tiles are separate allowances. Counts and comparisons use exact entered decimals. Other dimensions display up to six decimal places, with scientific notation for smaller nonzero results. Input and result magnitudes are limited to 9,007,199,254,740,991. Currency uses the selected currency’s minor unit.

Example

Floor Tiles example: 10 purchase units at an example price of £24.50 each cost £245.00.

Practical tip

Use pack coverage when buying packs. Decide an allowance for your actual layout before rounding the final purchase quantity.

Frequently asked questions

What does this result include?

Quantity and price must refer to the same unit. Fractional quantities are allowed for materials sold continuously; whole-pack rounding must be done before pricing.

Are these current supplier prices?

The prices in the example are assumed arithmetic values. Enter the current price and matching quantity or coverage from the supplier you intend to use.

How should I interpret rounding and units?

Whole purchase counts round up and maximum fit counts round down using the entered decimals exactly. Other dimensions use up to six decimal places; smaller nonzero results use scientific notation. Currency rounds to its minor unit, with smaller positive costs labelled explicitly. Unit selectors describe the input unit; changing one does not convert entered values.
