Whole Number = −1, Numerator = 1 and Denominator = 2 give −3/2. For −1/2 without a whole part, use Whole Number = −0, Numerator = 1 and Denominator = 2.

The fractional numerator may exceed the denominator; the combined result is still reduced.

How do I enter a negative mixed number?
Put the minus sign on Whole Number and keep the fractional numerator non-negative. For a negative value smaller than one, enter −0 as Whole Number.
Can the exact result be larger than the input limit?
Yes. Exact integer fractions can have larger output numerators or denominators after multiplication. Their text remains exact. Floating-point numeric outputs on other maths pages are limited to the supported numeric range.
