How to use Test Score Percentage Calculator

Select Calculate or press Enter to see grade percentage. 4. Select Select Copy result to copy the answer or Reset to clear the form.
Why use this tool?
Express a test mark as a percentage of its stated maximum.
How the calculation works
Percentage = points earned ÷ points available × 100. Available points must be positive; extra credit can produce a result above 100%. Test grades can use assessment-specific boundaries, scaling or weighting. This page performs the stated arithmetic only; use the applicable marking policy when interpreting the result. Percentages, point gaps and differences use up to two decimal places; averages use up to three. Smaller nonzero results use six significant digits in scientific notation. Browser floating-point rounding applies. Numeric input and result magnitudes must not exceed 9,007,199,254,740,991. Score and weight lists support up to 20,000 entries.
Example
Points Earned = 45, Points Available = 60 gives “75%”.
Practical tip
Use the maximum points for this same assessment. A raw score of 18 means 90% out of 20 but 60% out of 30.
Frequently asked questions
Does this assign a letter grade?
No. It converts points to a percentage. Grade boundaries and any scaling come from the applicable assessment policy.
What grading rules are assumed?
Test grades can use assessment-specific boundaries, scaling or weighting. This page performs the stated arithmetic only; use the applicable marking policy when interpreting the result.
Are extra credit and fractional points supported?
Non-negative fractional points are accepted. Supplied earned points or scores above the ordinary maximum can represent existing extra credit. Targets are limited to 0–100%; future target-score planning assumes at most the stated available points. The tool does not determine your grading policy.
