How to use Character Frequency Counter

Why use this tool?
Inspect repeated characters in a text sample or check unexpected spaces while cleaning pasted text. The output identifies invisible characters using quoted notation.
How the calculation works
Count Unicode code points; sort by descending frequency with first-seen order for ties. Text remains in the browser. Words are groups of letters or numbers. Apostrophes, hyphens and underscores stay inside a word. Character counts use Unicode code points, which can differ from visible symbols. Ignore Spaces excludes all whitespace when enabled. Each displayed key uses JSON quoting for invisible/control characters.

How are invisible characters shown?
Character labels use JSON-style quotes and escapes so spaces, tabs and line breaks can be identified.
How are emoji counted?
The tool counts Unicode code points. A combined emoji can contain several code points and therefore contribute to several entries.
How do I copy the result or start again?
Select Copy result after running the tool to copy the displayed answer. Reset clears the text and result, so keep a separate copy of any text you want to save.
